Institut pour la Photographie
Venue for photography exhibitions
L’Institut pour la Photographie (the Institute for Photography), serves as a hub for resources, dissemination, exchange and experimentation in the field of photography. The centre houses an archive of works from leading photographers and also hosts a programme of exhibitions.
What to see at l’Institut pour la Photographie
The institute hosts a programme of temporary exhibitions, showcasing the work of leading photographers. However, many of the exhibitions are exhibited off site, with some exhibitions hosted outside Lille.
The building is currently undergoing refurbishment and during this time there are currently no planned exhibitions at the institute.
Visiting l’Institut pour la Photographie
The museum is located inside a former high school on a residential street in Vieux Lille. From here you can walk to most points of interest in Vieux Lille and the city centre in 5–15-minutes. Nearby attractions include Porte de Gand, which is only a three-minute walk from here and the cathedral, the Hospice Comtesse Museum and Musée des Canonniers are all less than a 10-minute walk away.
It is only open to the public during scheduled exhibitions.
