ibis Lille Centre Gares

ibis Lille Centre Gares is a reliable accommodation option close to Gare de Lille Flandres. It is reasonably priced with a convenient location within walking distance to most points of interest in central Lille.

Rooms have a comfortable ‘Sweet Bed’, a work desk, a flatscreen television and an en suite bathroom. The rooms are well designed and feel more spacious than you would expect from a 15m² room.

The hotel’s public areas include a nice lounge area in the hotel lobby plus the ibis Kitchen bar and restaurant, which has much better food than you would expect from a restaurant inside a budget hotel. When I stayed to review the hotel, the ‘welsh’ I ordered was considerably better than the one I ate at a restaurant on Place Rihour in the city centre, although the atmosphere is better in a city centre restaurant.

It is well placed if you’re travelling by rail with Lille Flandres railway station just a couple of minutes’ walk away and the Grand’Place and Place du Théâtre are both less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Points of interest within a 10-minute walk from the hotel include the belfry at the Hôtel de Ville, the Musée de l’Institut Pasteur, the Noble Tour, Porte de Roubaix, Porte de Paris, la Vieille Bourse and Westfield Euralille shopping centre

It is handy for public transport with Lille Flandres metro station and tram stop just a two-minute walk away and Mairie de Lille metro station a three-minute walk in the other direction.
