Le Tripostal
Contemporary art venue
Le Tripostal is a venue dedicated to contemporary art exhibitions in Lille. Built in the 1950s as a mail sorting centre, it was repurposed for cultural activities during “Lille 2004, European Capital of Culture”, transforming it into a significant hub for contemporary art.
The venue has three 2000m² floors that offer flexible exhibition setups and, unlike many other contemporary art galleries, it doesn’t have a permanent collection and instead is focused on hosting a programme of temporary exhibitions. Because of this, your experience can vary greatly, depending on the current exhibition programme.

Temporary exhibitions at le Tripostal
Pom Pom Pidou
The Pom Pom Pidou exhibition (26 April–9 November 2025) explores modern and contemporary art through works from the Centre Pompidou’s collection. It follows a chronological approach, starting with avant-garde movements and progressing to experimental art. Highlights include works by Robert Delaunay, František Kupka, Marcel Duchamp, Fluxus and Pop Art. The final section examines technological art and the Centre Pompidou’s architecture, featuring drawings by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers.
Visiting le Tripostal
Le Tripostal is located between Lille Flandres railway station and the Westfield Euralille shopping centre and most points of interest in central Lille are not much more than a 15-minute walk from here.
It is usually open between Wednesday and Sunday and the centre is often closed temporarily between exhibitions.
